Judy Tinder Seeks to Represent Lynn Haven as Seat 4 Commissioner
April 10, 2025

LYNN HAVEN, FL - Judy Tinder, a dedicated community member and former Lynn Haven Commissioner, is campaigning for Seat 4 in the upcoming April 22, 2025, election. Having served in the same role from April 2017 to January 2023, Tinder brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to Lynn Haven, where she has lived since 1988. As a co-owner of a local business and a mother whose daughter, Kathy, graduated from Mosley High School, she understands the needs of the community and is eager to resume her role as a public servant.
Tinder’s platform centers on transparency, citizen engagement, and addressing the concerns of both senior citizens and young families. She proposes initiatives like free trash pickup for seniors, who often live on fixed incomes, and a resident hotline to ensure questions are answered promptly. Recognizing the financial burdens faced by young families, Tinder aims to tackle rising stormwater assessments and millage rates while advocating for controlled city spending. She also emphasizes the need for regular publication of city financial reports to restore transparency in Lynn Haven’s governance.
Supporting local businesses and encouraging residents to participate in City Commission meetings are key priorities for Tinder. She wants to ensure citizens’ voices are heard and included in decision-making processes, fostering a courteous and inclusive environment during public commentary. Additionally, Tinder suggests exploring practical options for re-establishing a city library, rather than ignoring the issue, to meet community needs without straining the budget.
With a focus on common-sense governance, Tinder calls for careful consideration of infrastructure in new developments and a return to open discussion within the commission. She highlights the importance of each vote, noting that with only five commissioners, a majority of three is needed to enact change. Reflecting on her previous tenure, during which she supported residents’ needs, Tinder took a brief hiatus to care for her ailing aunt until her passing in July 2024. Now, at 75, she is ready to return to public service with renewed energy and a straightforward approach, asking for residents’ support in this critical election.
Tinder invites the community to join her in building a future for Lynn Haven that balances heritage with progress. For more information, she can be reached at 850-960-2552.
