Beck Avenue Beautification Project to Enhance the Heart of St. Andrews CRA District

PANAMA CITY, FL. – The City of Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is pleased to announce the launch of the Beck Avenue FDOT Beautification Project. This major landscaping initiative will enhance the visual appeal and environmental sustainability of Beck Avenue, a key thoroughfare through the heart of St. Andrews. The FDOT’s $500,000 grant has been approved, and the project is currently in the permitting process. Boring will take place this summer, and vegetation will be planted this fall.
The project will feature the installation of Florida-friendly plants and landscaping designed to create an inviting and environmentally responsible entryway for residents and visitors alike. The beautification efforts will focus on the prominent intersection of US 98 and Beck Avenue, the gateway to the vibrant St. Andrews community.
“The Beck Avenue Beautification Project represents a commitment to sustainability and community pride,” said Jonathan Hayes, Executive Director of the CRA. “By investing in native, Florida-friendly landscaping, we are creating a greener, more attractive environment that residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come.”

• CRA Contribution: $20,300 (funded through FY25 St. Andrews CRA District Budget)
• FDOT Grant Contribution: $500,000
• Contractor: Piney Grove (awarded July 2024 via RFP)
