Anita Louise Thompson Segler - November 16, 1940 - July 6, 2025

Anita Louise Thompson Segler, 84, a lifelong resident of Panama City, FL passed away on July 6, 2025. 
She was born on November 16, 1940 in Panama City to John S. and Louise Spencer Thompson. Anita was a 1958 graduate from Bay County High School and a 1962 graduate of Florida State University. She worked as a Home Economics teacher at Rutherford High School from 1962-1969. 
Anita married her husband, Norman Segler on July 21, 1962 at First Baptist Church of Panama City and they were married for 59 years. Together they owned and operated Thompson Appliance, retiring in 1992. 
Anita was very active in her community and was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, the Panama City Junior Women’s Club and the Woman’s Club of Panama City. She was also a charter member of the Gulf Coast Woman’s Club, where she served as president several times. 
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Segler and her parents, John and Louise Thompson. She is survived by two cousins, Renea Rountree of Chipley, FL and Reda Ann Rountree Gill of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law, Margaret Moates and her family in Birmingham, AL. 
Thank you to the staff and caregivers with Senior Helper and Emerald Coast Hospice for your loving care. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, Gulf Coast Women’s Club members and the members of Bay High Class of 1958.  
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10 am in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Pastor Kip Hentz officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Anita Segler.
