Teacher Sean Patrick Watson Jr. Arrested For Sexual Crimes Against Minor Student

BAY COUNTY, FL - Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford announced today the arrest of Sean Patrick Watson Jr., of Parker, on two counts of Unlawful Sexual Activities with Certain Minors, Promoting or Directing the Sexual Performance of a Child, and An Authority Figure Soliciting or Engaging in a Romantic Relationship with a Student.
 On July 15, 2025, a sexually explicit video was located on a juvenile victim’s cellphone depicting Watson and the victim engaged in sexual activities. Text messages were also located on the victim's phone between Watson and the victim discussing their romantic relationship. Investigators swiftly obtained warrants for the arrest of Watson who later turned himself into authorities at the Bay County Jail.
 During an interview with Watson, investigators obtained a confession from Watson. Watson, age 34, stated he had sex with the victim on two separate occasions, one of which he filmed. The victim was a former student of Watson's. Watson was employed at Rutherford High School as a teacher as well as an assistant football coach.
Sheriff Ford would like to remind the public that crimes against children, especially crimes committed by trusted members of the community, will not be tolerated. Investigations into these types of crimes will be swift, aggressive, and thorough to ensure justice is served.
